Do smart phones connect or disconnect us?

The scope and speed by which mobile telecommunications has transformed our lifestyles is astounding.  But is it for the better or for the worse?  It is up to us to make the call.

From the Slingshot perspective, I strongly advocate that we look for new combinations of existing components, rather than outright replacing one with another.  In this case the danger is becoming so obsessively absorbed in our interaction with our smart phones, that we disconnect from the world around us.  Rather, we should aim to integrate the best of our new, mobile phone-based experiences with live, visceral experiences that allow us to fully enjoy the moment.
